Welcome to KARUNA, the popular name for the Arnold Janssen Spirituality Centre
Welcome to our Spirituality Centre -
Because of the Carona Virus and State and Commonwealth restrictions on the size of groups meeting in public, the Centre is closed until further notice. Some programs are still offered via Zoom. Please check the UPCOMING EVENTS for further details.
The Centre recognises and pays its respect to the traditional owners of the land of the Wurundjeri people (past and present), members of the Kulin Alliance.
About our Unique Spirituality Centre
The Centre, under the patronage of St Arnold Janssen SVD, was opened in January 2008 as Melbourne's unique venue dedicated to the promotion of spirituality, inter-religious and cross-cultural relations. It is dedicated to mutual understanding and enrichment, respect and collaboration, between followers of various cultures and faith traditions.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of the Centre is the warm and hospitable welcome extended to all who come. Our Motto and Vision, reflected in our logo, is KARUNA: A Compassionate Heart - Embracing Everyone - with Unconditional Love.
Members of the Tongan Community perform a welcome dance at a Centre Open Day.
