Programs

The Centre offers programs and events which provide a deeper understanding of the richness in all cultural and spiritual traditions.  It is also a venue at which people from all backgrounds can celebrate these traditions.

The Centre caters for cross-cultural programs, ecumenical and interfaith meetings, retreats, meditation programmes for adults and children, workshops and seminars in adult-faith formation, women's spirituality.  

Outside groups are invited to book the facilities for retreats, prayer days, parish workshops and seminars.

The Centre caters for cross-cultural programs, ecumenical and interfaith meetings, retreats, meditation programs for adults and children, workshops and seminars in adult-faith formation.  The opportunities for self development are numerous and varied.  


Cross-cultural Activities:

At the 2008 and 2010 Open Day, visitors enjoyed contributions from the following communities:  Fijian, Tongan, and Vietnamese communities.  The Centre has also hosted activities involving members from Buddhist, Islamic and Hindu cultures.

 

Meditation Programs:

KARUNA recommends centering meditation as taught by Fr Thomas Keating OCSO, an American Trappist monk.  Centering meditation, also known as Centering Prayer, was recommended by Thomas Merton, the famous 20th century mystic from the Trappist monastery at Gethsemani in Kentucky, USA.   Read more>> 

 

Retreat Programs:

People of all religious and spiritual traditions are welcome to register for retreats organised by the KSC.  A rich variety of one-day and weekend retreats are available.  Anyone who wishes to make a private retreat should ring on 03 9762 6625 or send an email enquiry This email address is being protected from spambots. Spiritual Direction:

Many people find having someone to walk with them on the spiritual journey is helpful.  If you are interested in having someone accompany you on your journey, please contact 03 9762 6625.
